Crossover’s strategy is to identify, train and multiply church planters who will plant multiplying churches. Crossover currently implements this strategy four ways. We identify potential church planters by 1) sending American church planters through Crossover-USA, and 2) sending Brazilian church planters through Crossover-Brazil. These pioneers plant new churches and work with local church leadership to identify potential leaders. We then provide instructors to 3) train indigenous church planters enrolled in our Christian Leadership Training Institute and Church Planters Training Institute. Finally, 4) we provide appropriate assistance to trained church planters as they mobilize their new churches to plant other churches. These four steps ensure the quickest process to foster an indigenous, multiplying church movement.
Crossover provides additional initiatives to support this strategy. Both short-term medical ministries and short-term ministry experiences provide credibility to our church planters as they minister in their cities. Through experiencing the compassionate work and evangelism from other Christians, the church planters are encouraged and propelled by the favorable responses of the people. Also, the work is often so rewarding that short-term ministry participants are encouraged to consider career ministries as missionaries.
Finally, Crossover seeks to increase our missionary recruitment and support by establishing new sending bases in other countries, including ones located within the emerging church. Having established sending bases in the USA and Brazil and with additional bases around the globe currently being identified and nurtured, Crossover has defined itself as a forward-looking international organization committed to strategic multiplication at every level.
